The competitive and dynamic environment all Rio Tinto businesses operate in requires that employee workplace skills are developed and maintained at a high level. This is combined with a need for ongoing personal development to realize full potential in a learning environment with strategies, systems, and practices that create alignment between the performances of people at all organizational levels. The key to achieving this alignment is by ensuring the skills are available within the learning community, which will equip leaders with the necessary tools for developing the skills of their employees. This can be accomplished by providing the knowledge and tools within the context of common Rio Tinto HR systems.
